The setting of ‘Villa Casa Joia’ is beautifully nestled in Caramujeira, just outside Carvoeiro / Lagoa, in the centre west of the Algarve.
With its spacious interior and large, well-kept garden with sea views and pool, Casa Joia is a very attractive holiday home for several couples, or offers space for an excellent family holiday. We think that 5 couples or even two families can enjoy their privacy thanks to the good amount of space. This is guaranteed by the layout of the rooms, the roof terrace and balconies, and the very large planted open spaces around the house.
‘Villa Casa Joia’ is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday on the Algarve coast. The entrance to the villa is on the ground floor. All rooms are equipped with chic large bathrooms, beds, other furniture and large kitchen. The villa has 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms, 1 guest toilet, open-plan living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry room. The rooms are divided over two levels and are comfortably and cosily furnished. Large living room - open to the dining room with seating for 8 - 12 people.
There is also a fireplace in the living room, cable TV with local and international channels, a large Smart TV, e.g. with a link to Norwegian TV channels such as NRK Super-, plus free WLAN (wireless internet), air conditioning in all bedrooms and living rooms. The large kitchen naturally has a dining area with a modern counter solution. Good kitchen appliances including induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, 2 x fridge and freezer are a matter of course. There is also a separate laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board for a quick wash.
Various exits to the terraces that surround the house, on the ground floor from the living room and a kitchen with further access to the garden and covered pool offer short routes to the park-like plot. Some bedrooms have doors with an exit or view directly into the huge, privacy-fenced garden. There is also access to two balconies and access to the huge roof terrace. Bedrooms on the other level are furnished with a double bed (plenty of space for 2 people) and one room is furnished with a single bed and a double bed of 140 cm (plenty of space for 3 people), both bedrooms on the 1st floor have their own, newly renovated bathroom.
There is also an extra bed and 1 cot. The guest WC is located at the main entrance. The 5th bedroom with double bed and master bathroom was completed in 2023.
A beautiful spiral staircase leads from the living room to the 1st floor, where you will find a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with two single beds. The rooms here are also very good and have a newly renovated bathroom.
Together with the aforementioned extra bed and the cot, there is room for 11 people. All beds have very comfortable mattresses. Air conditioning is available in all bedrooms, as well as in the living / dining area (running costs included in the rental price).
All bathrooms have a wall-hung WC, rain shower and partly heated towel rails. Some bathrooms and the guest WC have been redesigned with a bright and stylish look. The roof terrace on the 2nd floor is large and has a beautiful view of the lake area, the vines and the villa's own magnificent garden. Everywhere you can sit together in peace and quiet to enjoy the starry sky or the city lights.
A highlight is your own private outdoor pool with the option of heating (pool heating must be ordered in advance as there is a charge), with an additional outdoor shower, sunbathing areas, garden furniture and sun loungers. The pool has heat loss protection. This can be seen as an additional safeguard. Of course, this does not replace your duty of supervision, as non-swimmers and children should never play at the pool unsupervised. The pool area is well protected from the surrounding area and the surrounding garden is beautifully laid out and looks like a small park with palm trees, footpaths, trees, lawns and exotic flowers and plants. In the evening, the lights in the pool and the lighting in the garden will light up if you like.
On the property there is a large barbecue area with a large gas barbecue, which is covered with a huge awning, kitchen bench and sink (like a garden kitchen) and a stone table. The beautiful view of the sea from the roof terrace and the marvellous garden will accompany you day after day.
The property, which is fenced off from the surrounding area, has a large, electric wrought-iron double gate that can be opened and closed with a remote control from the car or from the house. This gives you as a resident full control over the arrival area and offers you additional security. Several cars can be parked within the gated property.
A cleaning service is also included in the rental price. There is also a free intermediate cleaning service for full rental weeks during a longer rental period. Bed linen and towels (2 x shower towel and towel) are included in the rental price. We strongly recommend that you bring your own bath towels for the beach. The property is equipped with Securitas alarm & motion sensors and cameras, as well as sensors on all windows and doors, and smoke detectors.
You can choose how you want to switch the alarm. Sensors and smoke detectors alert the local Securitas monitoring service in the event of an alarm. You can also activate a ‘ding-dong’ function, which only indicates warnings in the house if a door or window is opened when the main alarm is not activated.

Pets are not allowed. All houses and flats are non-smoking properties. Children are welcome, a baby travel cot is available free of charge if required. The gutting and scaling of fish in the living areas is not permitted.
Leisure activities and recommendations:
From the villa you can easily and quickly reach all amenities and attractions, such as 8-10 breathtaking beaches and, for example, the nearby fishing village of Carvoeiro with its many good restaurants. Even some of the footage for the Masters Champion in 2018 was filmed in this area. As you probably know, Portugal has the most sunny days in Europe and the Carvoeiro area is known for having the most hours of sunshine on the Algarve coast with a very pleasant climate at any time of the year.
Experience the long beaches and hidden coves of the Algarve. The villa is just over 1000 metres from the impressive cliffs of the Algarve. The area around Villa Casa Joia is the national pride of the inhabitants and the buildings still standing here are one of the few in the Algarve that are not surrounded by large hotels and the tourist industry.
With a walk or a few minutes in the car, you are on the cliffs by the sea and on local, internationally award-winning beaches, such as Albandeiro and the beautiful Marinha beach. The coastline below the house is repeatedly named Europe's most beautiful coastline. You can also explore this marvellous grotto landscape by boat. Birdwatchers / ornithologists from all over the world come to this area to see rare birds. It is also not far to Albufeira or Portimao.
The area is protected and has a multitude of criss-cross hiking trails. Perfect for walks or for the morning jogger. A short walk or a short drive by car and you are on the beach below the house. Within a short distance there are many restaurants, bars, shops, a supermarket, a shopping centre such as Aqua Portimao, Algarve Shopping, Designer Outlet, Loule Shopping, Nike Outlet etc. For horse lovers we recommend a short drive to the popular riding school www.realpicadeiro.com. A large outdoor go-kart facility with tracks for young and old racers is about 30 minutes away. Portugal's biggest and best water park Slide & Splash is just a few minutes away. There is a maritime zoo with dolphin shows, water slides and restaurants.

Festivals and parties: There are many festivals and markets in the area. A medieval festival in Silves in August is a must for young and old. Here the medieval atmosphere, entertainment and stalls with only local performers and products are at home in the streets. Then Fatacil in Lagoa usually runs from mid to late August. The event is just a few minutes by car from Casa Joia and is the largest market in the Algarve for crafts, arts, tourism, restaurants, wine tasting agriculture, commerce and industry.

How to get there: The villa is located 45 minutes from Faro airport and approx. 2 hours and 30 minutes from Lisbon. Seville in Spain is about 2 hours away by car. We recommend flying to Faro Airport, and from here continuing with a hire car. The cost of a taxi in Portugal is very reasonable. For example, a 5-person taxi journey to the nightlife on the coast costs around 10-12 euros.
