Edelh-Polar-Spa is a great holiday apartment with sea view, jacuzzi, terrace with grill, boat mooring and parking spaces directly in front of the quay. The great grill hut on the quay is available to you at any time and you can enjoy life with your friends with self-caught fish or a cup of coffee by the campfire in a familiar and friendly atmosphere.
The small family business Edelhs Polar is located on the northernmost latitude that our company currently has on offer. The high-quality apartment with 75 m² of living space is on the first floor of the Olaibua directly on the harbor / jetty facing south, with a separate entrance. Around the property there is a large jetty with moorings for local fishing boats and a floating bridge where your boat is also moored. On the water side below the house there is a covered fish cleaning area. The clear air and the green areas with tender grasses make the immediate area a paradise in summer, at the time of the midnight sun. For example, you can use a grill house located on the jetty for social evening get-togethers, take a sauna in your apartment or watch the midnight sun, and with a bit of luck, watch the northern lights (Aurora boreales) from the 40-degree hot spa with lighting and massage jets from your large balcony. From the spacious roof terrace and the waterfront, or from the summer house, there is a wonderful view of the Arctic Sea and the nearby bird cliff Gjesværstappan.

The beds are already made up with good hotel bed linen when you arrive, and beautiful white hand and bath towels are provided for your stay.

From the living area, an extra exit leads to the large south-facing balcony terrace with garden furniture.
There you will also find the large 4-person Jacuzzi with various whirlpool and lighting functions , as well as a standing temperature of 40 degrees and a view towards the harbor and the bird rocks.
In front of the building there is a newly built utility room for floating suits, fishing equipment, etc. There is also a large freezer, as well as a washing machine and a tumble dryer for shared use with the other guests.
Bed linen, towels, final cleaning, electricity, water, sauna and jacuzzi use, as well as internet use are included in the rental price.
Arrival and final cleaning, additional costs:
There are free changeover days for this property.
Check-in: 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Check-out: until 11:00 a.m. or by arrangement with the owner.
Extra costs:
The thorough final cleaning, electricity, water, bed linen, towels, internet, sauna and jacuzzi use
are included in the price.
Deposit:
The deposit is 350 euros upon arrival and must be paid directly to the owner on site.
House-specific guidelines:
Pets are not allowed. The house can be used all year round, in the winter months only on request.
Boats are not included in this property price and must be ordered separately from us. You can find these on our homepage under the Boats button, then select Skager 660 Gjesvaer 1 and book it for the property.
To clarify, we would like to point out again that there is a small harbor cafe on the ground floor of the house, where small meals are rarely held. This circumstance should not in any way affect your vacation.
Packed lunches or king crab meals are not included in the price and must be paid for on site if required.
Fishing and Activities:
The family that runs the property has been traditionally linked to fishing for generations and almost forever and would like to share the history and life in the far north with you in a natural and peaceful environment. Gjesvær is the ideal starting point for fishing, within a short distance of what are probably the best fishing grounds in the world. Edelh-Polar-Spa in Gjesvær, on Magerøya at the North Cape, has truly earned its rating as a top-class apartment in a breathtaking location by the harbor of Gjesvær with a jacuzzi, sauna, great facilities and boats suitable for the area. We ourselves were inspired and convinced by the incredible expanse of the Arctic landscape, the location and the beautiful accommodation during a recent visit.
What awaits you?
Gjesvær is a village of 120 people with good infrastructure for arctic conditions, really at the end of the world in the northernmost part of Norway, 230 km north of Alta. Gjesvaer offers indescribably beautiful mountains and valleys, whether in summer or winter. Quaint little fishing villages like in the old days are hidden in the fjords, the unique bird life around - and on - the world-famous bird cliff Gjesværstappan is world famous. In addition, there is breathtaking sea fishing for magnificent specimens such as large cod, redfish, haddock, wolffish, halibut and co. In Gjesvær you will find fantastic and magnificent nature, organized bird safaris, fishing tours, catering and overnight accommodation.
Or order a king crab meal from Edell or Nora to fill you up, which can be prepared especially for you downstairs in Olaibua. There is also a license to serve alcoholic beverages here.
Would you like to order a packed lunch for your trips at sea? No problem, everything is possible at Olaibua. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to take part in a real Nordic festival, which takes place every now and then in the summer at Oleibua. The Norsemen are extremely hospitable and will certainly be happy to have a nice chat.
Shopping and leisure facilities are located directly in Gjesvær, a petrol station is in the next village (33 KM). For diesel boats, fuel is provided at the property for a fee.
It is only 37 km to the North Cape, the famous metal ball at the northernmost point of Europe. In summer, thousands of reindeer roam the green areas and the surrounding area.
Travel options from Germany via Oslo to Gjesvær:
Dear guests, of course it is also possible to arrive with your own vehicle from Germany.
There are several direct flights from Germany every day, for example via Stockholm etc. to Oslo and then on to Alta or Lakselv.
You must book flights privately; come2norway does not arrange flights.
From Lakselv and from Alta to Honningsvåg there is a bus line that runs twice a day from Monday to Thursday:

The owners are happy to assist you with the transport of people and luggage from Honningsvåg to Gjesvær.
What we recommend:
If you don't want to travel by car, we recommend flying with SAS or Norwegian from Germany. The destination airport is always Oslo. If you want to book a flight, please contact a travel agent or book directly on the SAS or Norwegian website. From there, you can continue with either SAS, Norwegian or Wideroe to Alta or Lakselv. To be as independent as possible, we recommend that you pre-book a suitable rental car in Norway. From Alta, it is only a 3-hour drive to your holiday destination.
