The large, bright panoramic living area with a view towards the sea is equipped with a living area, wood-burning stove, fiber optic internet and Altibox WLAN internet, Smart TV, SAT TV with German channels, DVD etc.

Parking at the property, private entrance area, garden furniture, charcoal barbecue etc. Your boat mooring is located at the jetty in the harbor directly behind the house. There is also the new filleting house with electricity and water connection. There and on the boat (device) the fish are also to be cleaned, under no circumstances at or in the house!

The minimum rental period is 6 days. Free changeover days are also possible during the week after consultation.
The basic property price includes up to 7 persons. A surcharge of 10 euros per day is charged for each additional person more than 7 people when booking. Free charging of hybrid or electric cars is not permitted.

Additional costs:
Important: In order to absorb the drastically increasing energy costs, we have to charge an additional 9 euros per night.
Charging of hybrid or e-cars via the house electricity is not permitted, but only at the approved charging stations.
Included: The costs for accommodation, internet, electricity for normal household management and water are thus included in the price.
Excluded and not included in the rental price: Insurance for accident cover, personal liability insurance.

House-specific information - pets brought along:
Pets are permitted on request and must be registered at the time of booking. Pets are not allowed in the bedrooms.
We charge 15 euros per dog per day (as of 17.08.2021).
All houses and apartments are non-smoking properties.
Children are very welcome, a baby travel crib is available free of charge if required.
For hygienic reasons we would like to ask you not to use sleeping bags under any circumstances!
Fish cleaning is to be done on the boat (good equipment on the boat) in the harbor, or in the filleting house, which must be cleaned again after use. Gutting and scaling the fish on or in the house is not permitted. Fish waste must always be covered and disposed of at sea, not in the harbor basin.

Final cleaning - bed linen and towel sets
Final cleaning is included in the price for this property.
Bed linen and towel sets can be brought by yourself or booked as an optional service for 20 euros per set.
If you bring your own comforter covers: Please make sure that the comforter covers and fitted sheets are the right size.
For hygiene reasons, we would ask you not to use sleeping bags under any circumstances!

In the HS preferably on Saturdays, other times free arrival.
Arrival: 16.00 h -20.00 h - Departure: until 10.00 h

Deposit:
The rental deposit is 350 euros, this is to be paid directly on site when moving in and will be refunded to the tenant when the rental property is returned free of defects when moving out.

Fishing in the sea and fjords

From Borhaug via Farsund to Sigersvoll / Eidsfjorden

We are fishing specialists in Borhaug and the surrounding area. Here you will also find the best and most impressive fishing videos of our fishing friends Achim and Claus from the region Bjoernevag, Farsund and Borhaug of the last 10 years.

For the best fishing spots in the offshore waters (Plateau 'Jölle' in Listafjorden, known as the soccer pitch, and Plateau 'Rauna' near the shipwrecks between Farsund and Borhaug) you will receive a sketch from us after booking. Excellent cod, pollack, coalfish and ling, lump as well as smaller halibut of 10-20 kg and lots of mackerel are regularly brought in from the offshore banks and plateaus. Even large halibut in the 80-kilo class have been caught.

The fishing spots are littered with wrecks that sank before the lighthouse was built at the turn of the century. An insider tip is a wreck near Lista Fyr at a depth of 67 meters, where handsome ling, sometimes also large cod and good pollack cavort. At and around the 'Pollackberg' in the Listafjorden at a depth of 70 meters with its occurrence, strong sea fish, especially pollack, are regularly hooked, as our pictures prove. Ling, pollack and good cod can also be found directly south of the lighthouse, from 45 to 80 meters water depth, at the break-off noses.

But: Keep your boats away from the shore of the lighthouse. There are huge rocks under the surface of the water in front of the shore, and a wave or strong swell would smash your boat on the underwater obstacles.

The Rauna Plateau further to the east, with its sandy trenches and elevations at a depth of 117 m, is also known for its exceptional and very large cod, coalfish and lingfish. The trenches around the plateau are very deep and have yielded huge lingcod and beautiful halibut.
The beaches and piers near Borhaugs offer good opportunities for surf fishing for sea trout, turbot and other flatfish species, especially in spring and early summer. Good specimens are regularly caught on the shallow beaches near the trotting track, Osthasselstrand, Nordhasselstrand and Bausje.

In the outer harbor of Borhaug, from the pier next to the harbor entrance to the sea, there are always plenty of flounder and plaice caught from the shore. This is a good alternative when the north-westerly wind is blowing and you can't go out.

It should be particularly emphasized that the owners in this area take exemplary care of their guests. don't worry, even on the large boats you will receive detailed instruction and driving practice until you are really confident in handling the watercraft.

Please bear in mind that you are fishing here on the open sea, in one of the best fishing areas in southern Norway with a great variety of species and amazing fish sizes. Your trips out to sea should always be well planned and considered. Check the online weather app yr.no several times a day for wind and wave height and don't risk your life for a fish. Your children will be happy when you return home safe and sound.

The fishing area is located directly in front of the Eidsfjord with its two small skerries in the middle of the fjord, with very good spots for pollack, cod and coalfish. The sandy bottom promises good catches of cod, ling and flatfish. Fishing in the fjord is possible every day. We have often fished in the Eidsfjorden, including at the fjord entrances to the green cliffs with their steep, step-like drop-offs and great depths, in the Stolsfjorden opposite or in the direction of Cape Varnes with its famous pollack spots. There, at Cape Varnes, please fish at a safe distance from the steep banks. The pollack are abundant there among the underwater plants at shallow depths. Do not enter the small bays and harbors, beware of shallows.

In Eidsfjorden itself there are always cod, coalfish, pollack, ling, mackerel in summer, and occasionally salmon and sea trout when trolling. Flounder and plaice like to be found on sandy bottoms. This alternative is ideal in north-westerly winds when you can't go out. In easterly winds, trips are almost always possible. Please bear in mind that you are fishing here in the fjord just before the open sea, probably the best fishing area in southern Norway with a great variety of species and amazing fish sizes. Therefore, your trips should be well planned and considered.

Hobby anglers get their money's worth at Eisdfjorden. Lots of pollack, coalfish and cod in impressive sizes, plenty of mackerel and other sea fish are on the fishing plan. Fancy some crabs? The manager knows where you can catch them by hand. The Eidsfjorden is known for its good water quality and abundance of fish. Follow the advice of the experienced owners and locals and never go out to sea in unsafe weather.
GPS coordinates for the best fishing spots for cod, pollack, ling, lump, coalfish, etc. are provided when you book. On board, you will receive a detailed briefing and driving school until you are really familiar with the boat.

Lista offers beautiful, long beaches with shallow water. All you need to bring is a towel and a picnic basket to enjoy a beautiful day in the sun and calm sea. If you fancy a longer tour, you can pack your rucksack with some water and a snack and walk along the beaches of Farsund.

In Borhaug there is a Joker supermarket with a solid selection of almost everything you need to live. The local baker delivers fresh pastries there every morning, and why not buy some fresh Norwegian baked goods for breakfast?
It's best to do your shopping locally. Where? In Vanse, of course. The Coop, Rema 1000 and the chic KIWI compete there with great offers and local goods and groceries.

Farsund: (15 minutes from Borhaug by car) is quickly accessible by car, bike or bus, a cozy town where you can go for a walk, eat ice cream or store in one of the many stores.

Vanse: Several stores with a wide selection, and here you will find 'Trunken', an American store that you must visit!

Try the restaurants in Farsund, or the small Asian vending carts with Thai food in Vanse. You'll have to find out for yourself whether the new fish restaurant at the harbor in Farsund has the best fish and chips in the country. We love them. At Fjordhotell or Rederiethotell, you must order in advance for the popular Motto Buffets.

Lista has great, long hiking areas and It's also wonderful for cycling. A visit to Lista Lighthouse is a must, and It's a nice walk from there towards Varnes, in the old, original Norway. Norberg Fortress is well worth a visit. Here you can play hide and seek with children and adults in old war trenches and visit the site. There is also a great visitor center. Be sure to stop by for a cup of coffee. More information: (click)

Finally, what can we say about the beautiful Lista region?
It is fascinating to see how the sea changes with the wind, sun and weather and how the play of light transforms the landscape. The Norwegians call it the miniature version of Norway, because all the country's typical cultural and natural elements come together here. Many believe that the Lista region will soon overtake the Lofoten Islands. This is because Norwegians love extreme challenges when it comes to hiking and sporting activities and, in winter, extreme weather with snow and violent storms that are a real spectacle of nature. This is what the Lista region has to offer.

Riding opportunities, an alpaca farm, soccer and volleyball pitches, probably the best outdoor skating track, a large go-kart track on the Lista Fly Plass, a fitness studio with solarium - Borhaug offers its guests all of this to pass the time. A visit to the Lista lighthouse and the rustic stone fields is an absolute must.

In windy or bad fishing weather, head to the coast at Jölle and Snekkestö. If you walk along the shores after a storm, you will find many ancient and maritime objects that the sea has washed up from great depths. Develop a passion for collecting and turn your finds into great eye-catchers for your home. Visit the hidden mountain lakes in the hinterland and spend a lovely day swimming there in summer. Even in Norway, the water can be up to 20 degrees in shallow areas.

Experienced hikers will want to conquer the existing and well-signposted hiking trails (over 200 km in total).

Informationen zum Boot

Additional boat costs:
Included and not included in the boat rental price: Insurance for occupants and accident cover, personal liability insurance, excess cover, consumables, fuel and lubricants.

Boat insurance - hull:
Hull insurance is usually included for our boats. The excess in the event of damage is 1000 euros. The amount of the excess may vary. This must be requested from the respective boat owner when taking over the boat and documented on the checklist. Personal items are not insured. The hull insurance is not liable for accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental property. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat if the damage is not covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The lessor/owner may retain the deposit paid until the damage has been repaired. The excess per case of damage is to be borne by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned free of defects, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be replaced by the hirer immediately before departure. The hirer undertakes to notify the lessor/owner immediately of any damage, collisions, other unusual incidents or complaints.

Boating license:
For guests born before 01.01.1980, no license for motorboats of this class is required in Norway. For younger persons, a boating license for boats with more than 25 hp is mandatory.

Binding rules of conduct - liability of the hirer:
For your safety, we recommend that you strictly refrain from drinking alcohol on board.
The hirer is liable for any damage caused by themselves and also for any damage caused by other users of the boat. The use of the boat is at the hirer's and all other users own risk. The hirer shall inform his crew in good time that they may need to take out appropriate insurance against loss events themselves before the start of the trip. In addition, the skipper must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the terms of the contract and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on the trips.
If fish cleaning is to be carried out on the boat or on an appropriate filleting table on the jetty, please dispose of the fish waste at sea and not in the harbour basin. Always cover fish waste (seagulls).

Restriction of area:
Fishing is only permitted in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and near the coast. Keep sufficient distance from the shore zones. A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to observe the navigation rules may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the lessor/owner. Claims of the tenant are therefore deemed forfeited.

Cleaning the boat:
The hirer must carry out the thorough final cleaning of the boat themselves. The Hirer shall return the boat in the same clean condition as it was handed over by the Owner.
