Boat: Included is a 15 ft. Pioner motorboat, 10 HP four-stroke, (2018 model, open to 20 HP, without depth sounder) suitable for max. 3-4 anglers. Life jackets / aids are available for almost all sizes.
Extra boat: If required, a 20 ft. diesel cutter with 16 HP, approx. 5 knots, can be ordered directly from the Norwegian landlord in Norway for the house, from 2018 with chart plotter. The price is 700 NOK per day, for 7 days, 3700 NOK.
Note: The owner expanded the property through extensive renovation and extension work. From 2024, 4 more people can travel with you, but only if the new upper floor with 2 additional bedrooms is booked. To clarify: From 2024, the new upper floor with the 2 new bedrooms can be booked with a larger number of people (+4). The additional cost per day is 50 euros. In addition, a significantly larger living space with a new terrace etc. was created on the ground floor.
Solvika holiday home is located in one of the most beautiful locations in southern Norway, in a breathtaking secluded location on a 4500 m² large and well-kept natural plot in a small, private bay on the Flekkefjord, surrounded by trees and lawns. A new large terrace facing southwest, a large jetty and a fantastic view of the fjord make this holiday spot particularly valuable. The property is in a sunny location near the old historic Dutch town of Flekkefjord, just before Abelnes, right in the wind-protected fjord world. The lovely house, surrounded by nature and shore areas, is absolutely traffic-calmed, but still central. In 15 minutes by boat, or in around 10 minutes by car, you can reach the town center of Flekkefjord. Very close to Andabeloya at the Oyna country store there is also a boat filling station for diesel and petrol / 24 hours, only EC card or Visa with PIN.
The motorboat belonging to the house is located on the jetty right next to the house. You can reach the property by car via a private road, and there is a parking space for 2 cars above the house. Due to the unique location, you can only get to Solvika on foot from the parking lot via a small path, then from there you go down a simple natural stone staircase to the house. (not suitable for people with walking difficulties)
We are offering you a comfortably furnished summer house in a unique location with its own jetty on a very well-kept, secluded plot. The furnishings are tailored to your needs, neat and clean. The kitchen and shower room are as good as new and the other rooms are very comfortably furnished.
We think that this holiday spot is just right for a family with 2-3 children, or a fishing group who want to escape the stress of everyday life and for whom the beautiful, undisturbed location is paramount:

Move-in and changeover day:
Basically Saturdays, booking only for full weeks.

Deposit:
The rental deposit is 350 euros, which is to be paid on site upon moving in and will be refunded to the tenant upon moving out if the rental property is returned in good condition.
House-specific information:
Pets are not allowed. All houses and apartments are non-smoking properties. Children are very welcome, a baby travel cot is available free of charge if required. Please make sure that the bed linen and fitted sheets are the right size. You must also bring your own towels. For hygiene reasons, we would like to ask you not to use sleeping bags under any circumstances!
Fish cleaning must be done on the boat (device on the boat) in the harbor, or on a suitable filleting table at the berth. Gutting and scaling fish in or on the house is not permitted. Please dispose of fish waste at sea and not in the harbor basin.
Fishing in the sea and in the fjords near Flekkefjord, from Abelnes to Hidra
From your location in the Flekkefjord and Abelnes region you have excellent opportunities for fishing for sea trout and sea fish, depending on the tides and the time of year.
The sea fish in this region are very diverse. The region's quiet fjord location offers many advantages, especially for anglers, diving groups and families with children who love fishing, from where you can reach the best fishing areas. With our good boat you can easily reach the most famous fishing grounds in southern Norway.
These include the Flekkefjord, the bubble bay near Fjellsa (reachable in just 10-15 minutes), as well as the Vollesfjord and Strandsfjord near Andabelöy, Eidsfjorden, the Stolsfjorden, the Hidrasund and the Fedafjord.
The wreck of the Gudrun, which sank outside the port in Abelnes during World War II, is a popular attraction for divers from all over the world in spring, summer and autumn. The shores off Grönnes in Flekkefjord offer good opportunities for mefo fishing and sea bass fishing. Other sea fish can also be caught from land here, depending on the tide. If you are interested in salmon or trout fishing, we recommend that you also visit the large freshwater lakes in the area and the rivers in Ana Sira or Kvinensdal (please note the closed seasons and the need for day permits).
If the weather is good, you can even explore the south coast of Hidras, the Lista Plateau and the Siragrunnen. Insider tips include the mussel bay in Vollesfjorden and the so-called "pensioners' bay" in the immediate vicinity of the house in Stolsfjorden.
The Siragrunnen and the fish-rich Lista plateau (also known as the football field because of the huge, sandy plateau, about 40-60 meters deep) can be reached by boat in good weather. However, these trips require careful seamanship and really good standing weather throughout the day.
It is important to remember that you can also fish in the open sea in the Abelnes region, which is one of the best fishing areas in southern Norway with an impressive variety of fish species and amazing sizes. It is therefore important that you plan and consider your trips carefully. Please check the wind and wave heights several times a day on the usual weather websites. Also pay attention to the recommendations of the owners and the locals.
An insider tip is a wreck on the Listafjorden near Lista Fyr at a depth of 67 metres, where impressive ling, sometimes also large cod and good pollack can be found.
On and around the Pollackberg in the Listafjorden at a depth of 70 meters, strong sea fish, especially pollack, are regularly caught, as our pictures clearly show. Ling, pollack and good cod can also be found directly south of the lighthouse, at a water depth of 45 to 80 meters, on the cliffs.
Fishing in Eidsfjord, Cape Varnes and Stolsfjorden
The fishing area is directly in front of the Eidsfjord with its two small skerries in the middle of the fjord, where there are very good spots for pollock, cod and coalfish. The sandy bottom promises good catches of cod, ling and flatfish. Fishing in the fjord is possible every day. We have often fished in the Eidsfjorden and Stolsfjorden, also at the fjord entrances of the green cliffs with their sloping, steep edges and very great depths, in the Stolsfjorden opposite or in the direction of Cape Varnes with its well-known pollock spots. There, at Cape Varnes, please fish at a safe distance from the steep banks. There are plenty of pollock there between the underwater plants at a shallow depth. Do not go into the small bays and harbors, be careful of shallows.
In the Eidsfjorden itself there are always cod, coalfish, pollock, ling, mackerel in summer, and occasionally salmon and sea trout when trolling. Flounder and plaice like to be on sandy ground. This alternative is a good option when there is a northwest wind and you cannot go out. When there is an east wind, trips are almost always possible. Please remember that you are fishing here in the fjord just before the open sea, probably the best fishing area in southern Norway with a large variety of species and amazing fish sizes. Your trips should therefore be well planned and considered.

Leisure - tips, activities - attractions
We recommend evening visits to the restaurants and pubs in Flekkefjord, such as the Grand Hotel or the Maritim Hotel, which offer excellent cuisine. There are also often live music and dance events at weekends, which can also be reached by boat during the day. These trips are prohibited after dark. In the shopping centers you will find everything you need to shop to your heart's content. In the harbor of Flekkefjord there is a boat filling station called "Groennes Marina" for boat diesel and gasoline. There is also a land shop and a new boat filling station in Abelnes on Andabelöy. Here you can only pay by card with Visa or Mastercard with PIN. Other car filling stations and ATMs are easy to find in the city area.
The "white" town of Flekkefjord offers a varied pedestrian area with many shops, restaurants, pubs and dance bars as well as other attractions. There are always events and performances here, from open-air concerts to other events. The local diving club can arrange diving trips by prior arrangement with the board. At the port exit of Flekkefjord you will find the historic Grönnes fortress and the only fjord sandy beach with diving tower. In summer, you should definitely take a boat to the popular bathing and barbecue island of Torsoy, which is located opposite Fjellsa. Recommended arrival - ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you choose the cheapest ferry ( Colorline or Fjordline ) and can book it for you if you wish.
Flekkefjord is located halfway between Stavanger and Kristiansand.
The distance to these cities is about 125 kilometers (journey time about 2 hours). The long-distance buses go directly to Flekkefjord from Kristiansand or Stavanger. From Flekkefjord there is another bus connection to the vicinity of your holiday property (the driver will stop on request).

After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths on the route. Please log in to autopass.no and register your vehicle there. If you want to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will later receive an invoice for the fees incurred. Leave the E39 at the Flekkefjord exit and drive straight through the roundabout towards the town center. When you come to the Flekkefjord area, there are two petrol stations on the left as you drive through the town, behind them are several supermarkets (Coop, Spar, Rema 1000, KIWI), which are open until 9 or 10 p.m. during the week. In Flekkefjord, follow road 44 for about 5 km, at the Abelnes/Hidra sign, turn left onto road 469 to Kvellanstrand/Hidra. (Sign) Continue to the "Erikstemmen" sign and turn left here, then follow the private road to the barrier on the right. The owner will be waiting for you and will hand over the boat to you after the property briefing.
Additional costs included boat:
Included are the costs for boat rental, berth and inventory as described, hull insurance according to Norwegian law with up to 1000 Euro deductible depending on boat type and insurance, the necessary safety features and equipment according to Norwegian law.
Exclusive and not included in the rental price: insurance for passengers and accident protection, personal liability insurance, excess coverage, consumables, fuel and lubricants.
Note: Boats also consume significantly more fuel for uneconomical and very fast journeys.
boat license:
Guests born before January 1, 1980 do not need a license for motorboats of this class in Norway. For younger people, a boat license for boats with more than 25 HP is mandatory.
Boat insurance - hull:
The boat is insured under the usual national conditions. The deductible to be paid in the event of self-inflicted damage is 1,000 euros and is always payable to the boat owner in the event of a classic claim.
Binding rules of conduct - tenant's liability:
We expect the boat captain to strictly abstain from alcohol on board. This is solely for your safety.
The renter is liable for damage caused by himself and also for all damage caused by other users of the boat. The renter and all other users use the boat at their own risk. The renter informs his crew in good time that they will take out appropriate insurance against damage events before the start of the trip. In addition, the boat operator must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the contract conditions and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on trips.
If the fish are cleaned on the boat or on a filleting table on the jetty, please dispose of the fish waste at sea and not in the harbor basin. Always cover fish waste (seagulls).
Territory restriction:
Trips are only permitted in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and near the coast.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to comply with maritime regulations may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the landlord/owner. Any claims by the tenant are then deemed to be forfeited.
Handover - Return:
The rental period of the boat is generally tied to the rental period of the booked property.
Equipment and inventory will be handed over/taken over according to the checklist.
Location: Handover with driving instructions and return is at the berth.
Handover: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. or by arrangement with the owner.
Return: Until 10:30 am on the last rental day or after consultation with the owner.
Eventual delays must be reported to the owner immediately by telephone.
Cleaning the boat:
The renter must do the final cleaning of the boat himself, preferably daily after the fishing trips. The renter returns the boat in the same clean and fuelled condition as it was handed over by the landlord.
