The fishing area has become famous for the Saltstraumen and the Vega Islands. The fish species found here, such as halibut, turbot, saithe, redfish, haddock, ling, tusk, cod, salmon, trout etc. can be cleaned directly at the jetty on the filleting table with running water and then stored in the freezer. Your fishing equipment can be stored safely and securely in the house. Freshwater fishing is possible in a nearby salmon river. If you like fishing for salmon and trout, you should definitely try your luck in the river "Lakselva", part of the water body "Vistenvassdraget" in the inner part of the fjord. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Visthus Camping. Wonderful mountain hikes or short excursions through the surrounding forests will delight any connoisseur of Norway. Excursions with the regular ferries, speedboats through the beautiful island landscape of the fjords to the sights in the area or to the larger towns, such as Sandnessjøen in the north or Brønnøysund in the south of Helgeland, are definitely worthwhile and will enrich your vacation. You can find more information about the Helgeland region here.

Boat insurance - hull:
Your boat is covered by hull insurance. The excess in the event of damage is 1000 euros. The type of cover and the amount of the excess may vary and must be requested from the respective boat owner when taking over the boat and documented on the checklist. Personal items are not insured. The hull insurance is not liable for accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental object. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat if the damage is not covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The lessor/owner may retain the deposit paid until the damage has been repaired. The excess per case of damage is to be borne by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned free of defects, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be replaced by the hirer immediately before departure. The hirer undertakes to notify the lessor/owner immediately of any damage, collisions, other unusual incidents or complaints.
Boating license:
For guests born before 01.01.1980, no license for motorboats of this class is required in Norway. For younger persons, a boating license for boats with more than 25 hp is mandatory.
Binding rules of conduct - liability of the hirer:
We expect the skipper to strictly refrain from drinking alcohol on board. This is solely for your safety.
The hirer is liable for any damage caused by themselves and also for any damage caused by other users of the boat. The use of the boat is at the renter's and all other users own risk. The hirer must inform his crew in good time that they may need to take out appropriate insurance against loss events themselves before the start of the trip. In addition, the skipper must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the terms of the contract and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on the trips.
If fish cleaning is to take place on the boat or on an appropriate filleting table on the jetty, please dispose of the fish waste at sea and not in the harbour basin. Always cover fish waste (seagulls).
Regional restrictions:
Cruising is permitted until dusk in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and near the coast. In adverse wind and weather conditions, trips out to sea are strictly prohibited.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to observe the navigation rules may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the lessor/owner. Claims of the tenant are therefore deemed forfeited.
Cleaning the boat:
The hirer must clean the boat thoroughly after each outing. The renter returns the boat in refueled and cleaned condition, as it was handed over by the lessor. We would like to expressly point out that GRP boats should not be entered with black, staining soles. Cleaning afterwards is very difficult and requires a great deal of work on your part. We charge 100 euros for a boat that has not been properly cleaned.
