General information about the property:
The Stolsfjorden holiday home can only be reached by boat and is located in a quiet and almost secluded spot in the Abelnes fjord world near Flekkefjord, about 8 minutes by boat from the Abelnes ferry port, directly on the shore of the Stolsfjorden. Neighboring are the Strandsfjorden fjord near Andabelöy, the Eidsfjord and Fedafjord, Vollesfjord, and Flekkefjord. To the east, off the island of Andabelöy, lies the Listafjorden, and beyond, the island of Hidra. This privately owned holiday home is set on a beautiful natural plot and features a partially covered and spacious terrace, as well as its own large boat dock in front of the house. The terrace faces southwest. A small mountain range is in the background. Three other summer houses are nearby, occupied by the Norwegian owners during the summer months. This property can only be reached by water, in less than 10 minutes by boat from Abelnes. The house's parking space is also located here in Abelnes. For quick, small purchases, the country store on the island of Andabeloy is a great option; it can also be reached by boat in 10 minutes. We highly recommend a boat trip to the Dutch town of Flekkefjord. Here you can moor at the guest harbor and stock up on supplies to your heart's content in the adjacent shopping centers. The drive to Flekkefjord harbor takes about 15-20 minutes. It also takes 15 minutes by car from Abelnes to Flekkefjord. On Andabeloy, at the country store Oyna, there is also a boat filling station for diesel and gasoline / 24 hours, only EC card or Visa with PIN.

Fishing in the sea and fjords near Flekkefjord, from Abelnes to Hidra
From your location in the Flekkefjord and Abelnes region you have excellent opportunities for fishing for sea trout and sea fish, depending on the tides and the time of year.
The marine fish in this region are very diverse. The region's tranquil fjord location offers many advantages, especially for anglers, diving groups, and fishing-loving families with children, from where you can easily reach the best fishing areas. With our well-equipped boat, you can easily reach some of Southern Norway's most famous fishing grounds.
These include the Flekkefjord, the bubble bay near Fjellsa (reachable in just 10-15 minutes), as well as the Vollesfjord and Strandsfjord near Andabelöy, Eidsfjorden, the Stolsfjorden, the Hidrasund and the Fedafjord.
The wreck of the Gudrun, which sank off the harbor in Abelnes during World War II, is a popular attraction for divers from all over the world in spring, summer, and autumn. The shores off Grönnes in Flekkefjord offer good opportunities for mefo and sea bass fishing. Other marine species can also be caught from shore, depending on the tide. If you're interested in salmon or trout fishing, we recommend visiting the large freshwater lakes in the area, as well as the rivers in Ana Sira or Kvinensdal (please note the closed seasons and the requirement for day licenses).
In good weather, you can even explore the south coast of Hidra, the Lista Plateau, and the Siragrunnen. Insider tips include the Mussel Bay in Vollesfjorden and the so-called "Retirement Bay" in the immediate vicinity of the house in Stolsfjorden.
The Siragrunnen River and the fish-rich Lista Plateau (also known as the football field because of its vast, sandy, approximately 40-60 meter deep plateau) can be reached by boat in good weather. However, these trips require careful seamanship and truly good standing weather throughout the day.
Please note that you can also fish in the open sea in the Abelnes region, which is one of the best fishing areas in Southern Norway, with an impressive variety of fish species and astonishing sizes. Therefore, it is important to plan and consider your trips carefully. Please check the wind and wave heights several times a day on the popular weather websites. Also pay attention to the recommendations of the owners and locals.
An insider tip is a wreck on the Listafjorden near Lista Fyr at a depth of 67 meters, where impressive ling, sometimes also large cod and good pollack can be found.
In and around the Pollackberg in Listafjorden, at a depth of 70 meters, strong-fighting marine fish, especially pollack, are regularly caught, as our photos clearly demonstrate. Ling, pollack, and good cod also frolic on the cliffs directly south of the lighthouse, at depths of 45 to 80 meters.
Fishing in Eidsfjord, Cape Varnes and Stolsfjorden
The fishing area is located directly in front of Eidsfjord, with its two small skerries in the middle of the fjord, offering excellent fishing spots for pollock, cod, and coalfish. The sandy bottom promises good catches of cod, ling, and flatfish. Fishing in the fjord is possible every day. We have often fished in Eidsfjorden and Stolsfjorden, as well as at the fjord entrances along the green cliffs with their steep, sheer cliffs and very deep waters, in the opposite Stolsfjorden, or toward Cape Varnes with its famous pollock fishing spots. There, at Cape Varnes, please fish at a safe distance from the steep banks. Pollock are plentiful there among the underwater vegetation at shallow depths. Avoid small bays and harbors; beware of shallow waters.
In the Eidsfjorden itself, there are always cod, coalfish, pollock, ling, mackerel in summer, and occasionally salmon and sea trout when trolling. Flounder and plaice prefer sandy bottoms. This alternative is a good option when you can't go out in the water during a northwest wind. With an east wind, trips are almost always possible. Please keep in mind that you are fishing here in the fjord, just before the open sea, probably the best fishing area in southern Norway, with a wide variety of species and astonishingly large fish. Therefore, your trips should be well planned and considered.
Please check the wind and wave heights several times a day on Windguru and yr.no Eidsfjorden (click link)
Freshwater fishing / in the surrounding lakes and streams:
There are many beautiful fishing spots in the area – for trout, char, and sea trout. On the website Listerfriluft.no , you'll find an overview of fishing lakes and sea trout spots. For some freshwater lakes, a license is required, which is subject to a fee. Here you'll find all the information about freshwater fishing spots in Southern Norway. (Click here)

Leisure - Tips, Activities - Attractions
We recommend evening visits to the restaurants and pubs in Flekkefjord, such as the Grand Hotel or the Maritim Hotel, which offer excellent cuisine. Live music and dance events are often held on weekends, and these can also be reached by boat during the day. These trips are prohibited after dark. The shopping centers offer everything you need for shopping to your heart's content. In the harbor of Flekkefjord, there is a boat fueling station called "Groennes Marina" for marine diesel and gasoline. There is also a land store and a new boat fueling station in Abelnes on Andabelöy. Only Visa or Mastercard with PIN are accepted here. Additional car fueling stations and ATMs are easy to find in the town area.
The "white" town of Flekkefjord offers a diverse pedestrian zone with many shops, restaurants, pubs, and dance bars, among other attractions. There are always events and performances here, from open-air concerts to other happenings. The local diving club can arrange diving trips by prior arrangement with the board. At the exit of Flekkefjord harbor, you'll find the historic Grönnes Fortress and the fjord's only sandy beach with a diving platform. In summer, be sure to take a boat trip to the popular Torsoy Island, located opposite Fjellsa, for swimming and barbecues. We're happy to answer any questions you may have about fishing. Under these links (click here) , you'll find a variety of activities in the Flekkefjord area: Hollenderbyen - the Dutch town, railcar rides on the legendary Flekkefjord Railway, the Brufjell Caves, the Blue Mountains Caves, the Flekkefjord Museum, the Flekkefjord Diving Club, and Grønnes Beach.

In Flekkefjord, continue along road 44 for about 5 km. At the Abelnes/Hidra sign, turn onto road 469 towards Kvellanstrand/Hidra.
